Meet Maura Atwood

Maura Atwood is a professional actor, singer, and director who has been teaching for fifteen years. She spent six years as a company member of Kohl’s Wild Theater, a conservation-focused children’s theater company based in the Milwaukee County Zoo. She has performed with numerous Milwaukee-based theater companies, including Acacia Theatre, Cooperative Performance, Mad Rogues, Off the Wall, and The Box Theater Company. Maura currently teaches for The Milwaukee Repertory Theater and the Wauwatosa School of Music, as well as for the online company Outschool.com. She teaches theater, writing, and voice, specializing in Shakespeare monologue coaching. Maura is a freelance writer, and she has ghostwritten over forty books. Her poetry has been published in several magazines, including Cholla Needles and Better Than Starbucks. She is a very kind, encouraging teacher who is quick to make students feel at ease. She pushes students to do their best while maintaining a calm, positive classroom environment. She is always happy to show students pictures of her chubby tuxedo cat, Nabi!
